Twilight

I was very apprehensive about reading this book. Again targeted toward the young adult readers with vampires and werewolfs. After much prompting, I finally borrowed a friend's copy. About 100 pages into it, I knew I needed the other 2 books immediately so I had to get them from other friends that same day. I am not a person that likes to re-read books, but this series makes me want to read them over and over again. I cannot wait for the final book to come out this summer! I was pleasantly surprised that this book lived up to all the hype I'd been hearing about - without overdoing the love part in it (I am not a romance reader at all).

All the girls in my YW group have read these books too - it's always fun to get a giddy response when I mention the name "Edward." These books are definitely teenage appropriate, but fun for us old ladies to read too!
Which book was your favorite of the 3 and why?

New Area

We read this book last year and I was not too excited about it at the beginning - it was supposed to be futuristic (not my forte) and located in the teen section. I started it Monday morning and finished Monday night while riding the treadmill at the gym.
This book was surprisingly deep and very thought provoking. It is not a religious book, but you can totally see the undertones there (for a religious person like myself), without being outright religious. I don't want to give much away, but I am so grateful that I followed Heavenly Father's plan. This book has inspired my life immensely, just in its short pages, and I highly recommend you give it a try. If you do, let me know what you think about the ending...

March Book

We are currently reading "The Chosen" for discussion the 2nd week of April. Our book club has been up and running for one year now and I thought it would be a good idea to let everyone know what we have been reading. We have read a wide range of books from fun, upbeat...

to sad, frustrating...

It has been a fun road thus far and I look forward to many more months of great reading and discussions. Hopefully I can keep this blog up to date with all the latest reads and let you know whether or not you should take the time to read certain books. If I like one, you will definitely know about it!
