We are currently reading "The Chosen" for discussion the 2nd week of April. Our book club has been up and running for one year now and I thought it would be a good idea to let everyone know what we have been reading. We have read a wide range of books from fun, upbeat...
to sad, frustrating...
It has been a fun road thus far and I look forward to many more months of great reading and discussions. Hopefully I can keep this blog up to date with all the latest reads and let you know whether or not you should take the time to read certain books. If I like one, you will definitely know about it!

I was very surprised when I read the Twilight series ("Twilight", "New Moon", & "Eclipse") by Stephenie Meyer. It's a vampire love story. Understand that I do NOT like sappy love stories (don't even watch 'chic flicks')& I don't particularly care for anything 'vampire' either. I really, really enjoyed these books.
BTW - Stephenie Meyer is LDS.
Also, she's written another in the series & I've read that they are making Twilight into a movie. Check it out!
I love the Twilight series!!! Last September I read all 3 in 4 days - they were so fast moving and I could not put them down! I saw the casting for the movie and was not very impressed. It is so hard for them to actually put a face to what I imagined all through the books and the only one I liked was Alice's character. Oh well. The last book comes out in July, right?
I am right with you about the sappy love stories - my mom could read those lovie dovie romance novels, but they're not for me at all! I have also been totally in with the YW (I'm the 2nd counselor) since they have all read the books too. I just mention the name Edward and they all melt before my eyes! It's pretty funny. You'll have to keep me up to date on your reading.
Well unfortunately I mostly read kid's books. I can tell you lots of those I like - Artemis Fowl series, the Shadow Children series by Margaret Peterson Haddix, and the list goes on...
I volunteer at the Scholastic Book Fair warehouse so I have close to 4,000 books - almost all of them kids books. I proof-read (and cross out cuss words, etc) so it keeps me very busy trying to keep up with all the books my oldest reads!
